Karen T. Long

1950-2026

LEETONIA - Karen T. Long, 75, of Leetonia, passed away Monday evening, July 20, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley.

Karen was born on Nov. 12, 1950, in Salem, a daughter of Elmer D. and Virginia A. (Whitehead) Cope. A Crestview High School graduate, she married Rex G. Long on Feb. 14, 1975. She worked as a caregiver for many years for Visiting Angels and Comfort Keepers.

Karen loved being a Nana, and was active in her children's and grandchildren's lives. She also enjoyed reading romance novels. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and worked at the Board of Elections as a poll worker for over 25 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Rex; son Roger (Jessica Willard) Long; daughter Rachel (Mike) Ashby Jr.; grandchildren Maci and Nicolette Vignon, step-grandchildren Analise (Brin), Adam, and Angeliq Ashby; great-grandson Marcus Ashby; and brother Wayne (Sue) Cope.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Common Ground Church, 2310 W. South Range Road, North Lima, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana and again on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Common Ground Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Karen's memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Interment will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
