Jeffrey Alan Farkas
1961-2026
Jeffrey Alan Farkas, 65, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on June 22, 2026, after a prolonged illness. He was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, on May 8, 1961, the son of Paul and Hazel (Eiler) Farkas.
After graduating from Blackhawk High School in 1979, Jeff enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed on the USCGC Bristol Bay and the USCGC Raritan and served throughout the Great Lakes region. He served honorably for eight years until his discharge in 1987.
That same year, Jeff married Carol (Wolfe) Farkas in Salem, Ohio. They moved to New Waterford, Ohio, in 1990, where they raised their two children. During this time, he worked as an electrician at BASF and also served as a part-time police officer in town. He stepped back from the force around 2021 and retired from BASF in 2023, when he and Carol moved to Bradenton.
In support of his son, Jeff was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow, including serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 45 in East Palestine, Ohio. That same generosity showed up at home. Every Christmas Eve, he brought both sides of the family together and prepared an enormous spread, a tradition his family will always hold on to.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hazel (Eiler) Farkas, and his son, Jeffrey Farkas. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Wolfe) Farkas; his daughter, Ashlee Farkas, and her husband, Tom Giorgio; and his brothers, Kevin Farkas of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and Michael Farkas of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is also survived by five nephews.
Jeff’s family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Tidewell Hospice. The family will gather this Christmas in remembrance of Jeff’s life and legacy.
