Helen Jane Lucas, 65 of Kensington, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Helen was born in Canton, Ohio on June 29, 1961 to Harry and Martha (Parshall) Hagan.
Helen devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home, where her family found comfort and joy. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her household, as she had a special fondness for children and dogs, always ready with a kind word and gentle hand for those in need.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great solace and inspiration within the pages of the Bible. She also had a deep love for literature, spending countless hours immersed in the pages of her favorite books. Her creativity shone through in the crafts she lovingly crafted, each piece a testament to her patience and skill.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been part of her life. She is survived by her husband, Jack Lucas of Kensington; two sons: Christopher Butner-Lucas of Minerva and James Lucas of Kensington.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by three brothers: Harry, John and Arthur.
Funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home, 205 W. Lincoln Way, Minerva, Ohio, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David L Powell of Carrollton Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will follow at . Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bartley Funeral Home.
