NEGLEY -- Claude C. Linger Jr., passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Youngstown.
He was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Salem, Ohio, son of the late Claude Sr. and Kathern (Cogar) Linger.
Claude lived a hard life so those around him can have an easier one. He enjoyed fishing, taking family vacations, spending time with his wife, most recently going on Caribbean cruises together, and playing Yahtzee with a cold beverage.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah (Wheeler); two children, Kayla (Debra, Doug) Linger and Kevin (Christine) Linger; eight siblings, Karen (Dave) Johnson, Jim Linger, Phil (Cindy) Linger, Steve (Susie) Linger, Pat McCoy, Don Linger, Jane (Joe) Fucci and John (Dana) Linger; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. Claude's family will have a time of reflection at 6:30 p.m. and encourage his friends and family to share memories at this time as well.
Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of one's choice.
