Arnett Ray "Banjo" Baker, 80, of Salineville, passed away with his loving wife at his side on Sunday, July, 12, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1946, the son of the late Arnette and Lola (Fetty) Baker. Besides his parents he was preceeded in death by a sister, Ella May Baker.
Banjo, was retired after 40 years from Arciler Mital. He was a member of the East Liverpool Moose, and the Lisbon Eagles. He was a football official for Columbiana County, a former part-time Hancock County School bus driver. He was the manager and member of The Lazy River Band; and avid hunter and Steelers fan. He was a good neighbor and friend to many, and his family was his greatest love. His love lives on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by the love of his life and his soul mate of 57 years, Gloria (Martin) Baker, at home; a daughter, Cynthia (William) Tribelo, of Salineville; three grandsons, Mason Ray, Gavin Leonard, and William Zackary Tribelo. He is also survived by three sisters, Joyce (Byron) Larson of West Point, Robin Hughes of Lisbon and Valerie Seevers of Virginia; two brothers, Ronald (Patty) Baker and Milo Baker, all of Weirton.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
