Wilma M. Weaver
1932-2026
NEW WATERFORD — Wilma M. Weaver, 94, passed away June 19, 2026, with family by her side at Lexington Place Assisted Living in Salem.
Wilma was born April 4, 1932, in East Palestine, Ohio, daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Brown Jones.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1950 graduate of East Palestine High School. Wilma was a longtime member of New Waterford United Methodist Church. Throughout the years she worked at Kenmar, Dairy Bar and Family Dollar, but she was most proud of being a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, camping, baking and cooking.
Wilma was known as the matriarch of the family she started and will be dearly missed by three daughters, Sherry (Bob) Ward of New Waterford, Brenda (Mike) Goughenour of Leetonia, Diana Woodlock of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Sheila Weaver; brother, Andrew Jones; 12 grandchildren, Kerry, Kelly, Duane, Amy, Steven, Ryan, Kevin, Brittany, Chelsea, Mikey, Haylie and Luke; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Weaver Sr. in 2003; son, James Jr.; great-grandson, Gavin; three brothers, John, Ralph and Leonard Jones; and two sisters, Anna Mae Lambright and Martha Springer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at New Waterford Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Lexington Place for taking care of Wilma and treating her like family.
