Sarah M. Ring

1948-2026

Sarah M. Ring, born on Dec. 6, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late James and Virginia (Geddis) Garee, passed away peacefully at Calcutta Health Care on June 10, 2026 at the age of 77. Her life was a testament to love, dedication and adventure.

Sarah began her working life at the Tasty Freeze in Wellsville serving ice cream with a smile and friendly conversation. She then joined a property reappraisal company before devoting nearly three decades of distinguished service to the Columbiana County Auditor Office in Lisbon, where her most recent role involved working with the Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) program. She retired in 2011, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering commitment and professionalism.

A graduate of Wellsville High School’s Class of 1966, Sarah pursued further education at Ohio Valley Business College. On Sept. 19, 1969, she married her soulmate, Ronald J. Ring, embarking on a journey filled with love and the shared joy of raising a family. Shortly after their marriage, Ron was stationed in Germany. Sarah decided to quit her job, sell her car and relocate her life in Germany with Ron. They decided to live off post with a German family. She and Ron toured Germany extensively while living there. Their travels visiting castles even took them to Zurich, Switzerland. Together, they created cherished memories, especially during their travels to beaches and cruises with Royal Caribbean, exploring every Caribbean island destination offered by the line.

Sarah had an enduring passion for gardening, finding solace and beauty in nature. She was also an avid reader. In her younger years, she attended Riverside Presbyterian Church in Wellsville, which laid the foundation for her life of faith and community involvement.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her beloved son, Ryan Jason, who passed away in 1971.

Her memory and legacy continue through her surviving family: her devoted husband, Ron; her children, Chad Ring of Las Vegas, and Regan (Kevin) Bosley of Austintown; and her treasured grandchildren, Preston, Graham, Brenna and Graceyn Bosley. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Sue) Garee, and her sisters Tessa (Tom) Trainer, Tina Volino, Justine (Brian) Monte, and Beth Calan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. at the MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation on Riverside Avenue, Wellsville. The service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.
