Karen E. Satterfield

1959-2026

LISBON — Karen E. Satterfield, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2026 at Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was born July 31, 1959 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Jeanette L. (Stine) Wilson of East Palestine, Ohio.

A 1978 graduate of Springfield Local High School, Karen embarked on a 33-year career as a heavy equipment operator in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant after serving in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. Karen also worked at National Refractory in Columbiana and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66 as a Crane Operator for Diamond Steel in North Lima.

Karen also enjoyed travelling, motorcycling, and camping.

In addition to her mother, Jeanette, she is also survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Steven Lee Satterfield, whom she married, June 14, 1999; her daughter, Ashley (Adam) Watson; son, Jeffery Thomas Meeks; sister, Peggy (Jack) Graham; brothers, Harvey James (Barb) Wilson, Chris (Pattie) Wilson, and Dan (Dana) Wilson; grandchildren, McKenna, Alex, and Camron, and sister-in-law, Becky Wilson.

Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Wilson.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home. A service with full military honors will take place at 11am, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in the chapel at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, 3495 South Canfield-Niles Road, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
