F. Richard Strabley
1935-2026
F. Richard “Dick” Strabley, 90, of Oceanview, Falmouth, Maine, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. He was born June 19, 1935, in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Elizabeth (Bessie Crowley) Strabley of Salineville, Ohio, and by other siblings Sarah (Betty) Tobin, Mary Jane Sherwood, Thomas Strabley, Ellen Conlin, Isabel Strabley, Jo-Anne Carter and Alice Smith.
Dick is survived by his wife Betty (Davis) Strabley of Falmouth, Maine; his brother Gerald (Jerry) and sister-in-law Jackie (Burgess) Strabley of South Bend, Indiana; his children Elizabeth Strabley of Madison, Connecticut, Richard and Jennifer (Brown) Strabley of Biddeford Pool, Maine, Jerry and Lynne (Morgan) Strabley of Summit, New Jersey, Kathryn (Strabley) and Brad Wong of Laguna Beach, California, John and Rachel (Caldicott) Strabley of Madison, Connecticut. He also cherished his 11 grandchildren.
A graduate of Kent State University, Dick began his career as an accountant for Kaiser Refractories in Columbiana, Ohio. His work with Kaiser took him to Mexico, Missouri and later to corporate headquarters in Oakland, California. He transitioned to the Aluminum Division in Oakland and subsequently transferred to Portsmouth, Rhode Island. After a 30 year career with Kaiser, Dick served as Vice President and Director of Finance for Aquidneck Management Associates in Newport, RI until the company was sold and he retired.
In retirement, Dick enjoyed gardening-especially roses-and spending time traveling with Betty to visit the children and grandchildren. He delighted in attending their sporting events and family gatherings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Summitville, Ohio.
