Ryan Glenn Bycroft

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Ryan Glenn Bycroft, formerly a resident of East Palestine, passed away April 20, 2026, due to a brief illness.

He was born in Salem on Jan. 17, 1978, son of Brad Bycroft and Krisann (Cusick, Bycroft) Jacobsen.

Ryan was a 1996 graduate and valedictorian of East Palestine High School. While in high school, he served as class president and was a member of the marching band, where he excelled at saxophone. Following graduation, Ryan attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, graduating in 2002 with a doctorate in Pharmacology. He then earned a degree in Oncology while working at ULV Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing with his dad, playing basketball and riding his skateboard. As an adult, he enjoyed spending time with his sons and family going on family vacations. Ryan also enjoyed playing ice hockey with a team in Louisville.

Ryan will be sadly missed by his mother, Krisann; his grandmother, Donna Cusick; sons, Bradley and Charlie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brad Bycroft; grandparents, William and Miriam Bycroft and Glenn Cusick; and three uncles, Tim Cusick, Brian and Bruce Bycroft.

A celebration of life will be held May 15, 2026, in Louisville, Ky.
