Loretta C. (Eddy) Chapman

1957-2026

NEW WATERFORD — Loretta C. (Eddy) Chapman, 68, formerly of Grass Lake, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

Loretta was born on Aug. 29, 1957, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, daughter of the late Lyle and Vera Vogan Eddy.

Loretta had worked as a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. Ellashek in Canfield for several years. She had also served in the U.S. Army. She loved reading, travelling and especially cruising. Loretta loved making new friends, or as she referred to it as collecting friends wherever life took her, Michigan, Texas, Germany, Maryland, Ohio, her many cruise destinations and her Hometown of Grass Lake Michigan which was always in her heart.

Loretta was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan, who loved pulling pranks and making others laugh; she really loved traveling all over making friends and learning other cultures.

Loretta kept close contact with her Grass Lake High School Class of “75” and was known for her positive daily posts.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Chapman, whom she married on Jan. 27, 1984; her son, whom she was extremely proud of and his girlfriend, Shane Chapman and Julie Reynolds of Akron; her brother, Lyle (Diane) Eddy Jr. of Jerome, Michigan; and her sister, Lisa Eddy of Adrain, Michigan and Bob and Monica Recktenwald, Tom and Tina Marts, dear friends whom she also considered family.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Eddy and Sheree Stebbens.

Per her request, no services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick Kummer Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
