Cheryl L. Selby

1948-2026

EAST PALESTINE — Cheryl L. Selby, 77, of East Palestine, passed away April 20, 2026, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

She was born July 2, 1948, in Salem, daughter of the late David and Shirley Bertollette Sprankle.

Cheryl was a 1966 graduate of East Palestine High School and was still involved with her class reunions and spending time with her fellow graduates. She earned a bachelor’s in education from Youngstown State and worked as a substitute teacher as well as a cashier in retail sales. Cheryl enjoys reading, writing letters and card clubs. She also was involved with scouting throughout the years.

Cheryl is survived by four sons, David (Kimberly Mays) Selby of Baden, Pa., Christopher Selby of Petersburg, Steve (Holly) Selby of Enon Valley, Pa. and Don (Liz) Selby of Alexandria, Va.; as well as two sisters, Linda (Allen) Dickens of East Palestine and Beverly (Joe) Kovir of Jacksonville, Fla. and five grandchildren, Julia, Adam, Reed, Piper and Riley.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A burial will follow services at Glenview Cemetery in East Palestine.
