Carolyn S. Esenwein

1941-2026

SALEM — Carolyn S. Esenwein, 84, went home to be with the Lord April 19, 2026, at Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon with family by her side.

Carolyn was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Columbiana, daughter of the late Carey and Dorothy Bell Houlette.

Carolyn was a graduate of Malone College in Canton where she earned her degree in nursing. She worked most of her life as a registered nurse and cherished her lifelong career. When not working, she enjoyed owning and riding horses.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Paul Esenwein Sr.; one son; one daughter; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; a sister; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be announced at a later date.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
