Bryan Brownfield, 54, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 7, 2026 while in hospice care in Statesville, NC. His mind and body fought a long and difficult battle against liver disease. He was born on December 5, 1971 in Salem, Ohio and resided in Lisbon for most of his life. He graduated from Lisbon David Anderson High School in 1990 and went on to attend Mount Union University on a basketball scholarship. While attending Mount Union, he met his wife, Elana (Weaver) Brownfield.

Bryan worked as an independent contractor in and around the Lisbon area for almost three decades. He was well-known for his exceptional craftsmanship and beautifully designed residential and commercial construction projects. Bryan also believed in giving back to his community in the form of coaching youth basketball and golf teams of all ages throughout his life. Bryan loved a variety of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and playing golf, but most of all he enjoyed doing these activities with the family and friends he loved so dearly.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elana (Weaver) Brownfield; son Branson Brownfield and wife Eva (DeRuyter) Brownfield; son Blayne Brownfield; brother Mike Brownfield; sister Brenda (Brownfield) Berkebile and husband Galen Berkebile, sister Julie (Brownfield) Thompson, and brother John Brownfield. Bryan also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He is preceded in death by several beloved family members; his mother, Barbara (Flugan) Brownfield; his father, Paul Brownfield; aunt Betty (Flugan) Wagner; uncle Ralph Flugan; cousin Thomas Flugan; and cousin Matthew Flugan.

A celebration of life service will be held at Greenford Christian Church in Greenford, Ohio on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m.
