1939-2026
COLUMBIANA — Patricia L. Foltz, 86, of Columbiana, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026.
She was born on May 20, 1939, in Rossiter, Pa., a daughter of the late Olen and Laura Baun Dunmire and had resided in Columbiana County most of her life. In addition to raising her family and helping her husband with their farm, she spent countless hours embroidering and quilting items that she shared with many. She volunteered many hours at local food pantries, and she loved to bake and was known for her cinnamon rolls and coconut creme pies.
She attended the First Church of Christ, East Palestine and was a member of the “Nimble Fingers” and “Sew Many” sewing and quilting groups. Even with her countless volunteer hours in the community, she found time to support and be a part of whatever her children were involved in, including 4-H groups, school activities, as well as making dresses for all of her daughters’ weddings. Ultimately, she was the Mom that everyone wished they had.
Her husband, Merle David Foltz, the love of her life, whom she married on Dec. 30, 1955, preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2002.
Patricia is survived by her son, Merle David (Barbara) Foltz Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C.; her six daughters, Lynne McCurdy of New Waterford, Christine (David) Noel of East Palestine, Holly (Norman) Weyant of Woodlawn, Va., Malenia (Jeffrey) Orr of Leetonia, Mishael (Robert) Murphy of North Canton, Marlene (Michael) Bossart of Wadsworth; her sister, Judy (Dennis) Sturdevant of Sheffield, Pa.; her brother, Harry (Esther) Dunmire of Shelocta, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Cessna, Elaine Semsick and Ruth Brant; her brother, Theodore Dunmire; and her son-in-law, Tim McCurdy.
Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, and at the First Church of Christ, East Palestine, one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, March 13, 2026. Bill Requardt, Minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
