EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Lorin F. Howard Jr., 90, of East Liverpool passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at The Inn at Old Saybrook.

Lorin was born in East Liverpool on Nov. 20, 1935, a son of the late Lorin F. and Edith (Garn) Howard Sr. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1953. Lorin worked at Crucible Steel then as printer for the East Liverpool Review and Youngstown Vindicator and later retired from FirstEnergy Bruce Mansfield Plant where he worked as a maintenance planner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger. Lorin was an avid golfer winning the Senior Olympics State Championship two times and took second place five times. He was an antique car enthusiast restoring several cars over the years. Lorin was a devoted husband to his late wife and a loving dad and pap pap that loved spending time with his grandkids watching their sporting events.

Preceding Lorin in death were his wife of 68 years, whom he married Aug. 6, 1955, Barbara J. (Buxton) Howard, and grandson, whom he adopted and raised, Jason Howard.

Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters Stephanie Kohler, Lori Glaze and her husband Thomas and Lisa Nentwick and her husband Danny; son Perry Howard; five grandchildren, Heather Stone and her husband Caleb, Matthew Rogers and his wife Amanda, Daniel Nentwick and his wife Erica, Evan Nentwick and Nathan Howard; and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday where the family will be present from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. officiated by Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church. Private burial at Calcutta U.P. Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Akeso Hospice and the staff at The Inn at Old Saybrook for the exceptional care they provided for Lorin.
