JoAnn Faye Burns

1935-2026

JoAnn F. Burns, 90, of Salem passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.

She was born on March 30, 1935 to Joseph and Faye Solomon. She enjoyed working in her garden and raising her flowers. She also enjoyed doing wood working, making crafts.

JoAnn graduated from Salem High School in 1953. Survivors include her brother, Buzz (Shirley) Solomon; her children, Linda (Howard) Webb of Massillon, Sue Shaw of Lisbon, Harvey (Cindy) Mountz of Kensington and Joseph (Nancy) Mountz of Kensington; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and one-and-a half great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Mountz and James Burns; a brother Richard Solomon; a son-in-law, Edwin Shaw; and two of her granddaughter’s husbands, Ray Mathes and Tim Graham.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Maple Cotton Funeral Home.
