Jerry Keeton

1939-2026

Jerry Keeton, 86, passed away February 16, 2026, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Jerry was born June 1, 1939, in Logan, OH, son of the late Gerald M. and Ruth Krippen Keeton.

He was a longtime resident of the area and a 1957 graduate of New Waterford High School. He worked as a machine maintenance supervisor at INSUL Co. for 39 years prior to his retirement. Jerry enjoyed antiques and collectables. He occupied space # 449 at Rogers Sale and was fondly known as "the chainsaw guy". He was very proud of his log home which he built and resided in.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patty (Birnesser-Oates) Keeton, whom he married in 2000; two daughters, Sylvia (Geoff) Craig of Hermitage, PA, Cindy (Patrick) Day of New Waterford; three step-sons, Evan (Jenn) Oates of East Palestine, Aaron Oates of Negley, Eric Oates of Columbiana; brother-in-law, Paul Birnesser; sister-in-law, Diane Johnke; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as a special friend, Dave Gouldberry and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Thelma Kelly Keeton in 1999, two daughters, Kelly Keeton McGinn and Amy Keeton and a sister, Betty Keeton Stanley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Jim Midcap officiating. A private burial will be held Thursday in Logan, OH.
