Janet L. Schied

1935-2026

NEGLEY — Janet L. Schied, 90, passed away Feb. 25, 2026, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana.

She was born April 10, 1935, in Beaver Falls, Pa., daughter of the late Sherman and Mary (Rambo) Gifford.

Janet was a 1953 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a longtime resident of Negley. She was a member of the First Primitive Methodist Church in Big Beaver Boro. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Samuel L. (Mary) Schied of Belton, Texas; two daughters, Susan (Rick) Arthur of Negley and Charlotte (John) Lee of East Palestine; five grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Quinn Joseph Schied in 2015; a son, Quinn (Skip) Schied II in 2018 as well as 11 siblings.

Private services will be held at Beaver Falls Cemetery with a celebration of life announced at a later date.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
