Gordon Davidson
1938-2026
Gordon Davidson, 88, of Columbiana, Ohio, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn; his sons, Tom (Jen), Terry (Michele), and Jeff (Katrena); 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth and Alverda and brother Richard. He was preceded in death by brothers William and Robert and sister Elsie.
A lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, Gordon took great pride in his work. He believed that a job worth doing was worth doing right. That belief guided both his career and his life.
Gordon’s family and his home always came first. He was devoted to his wife, and they rarely missed a sporting event involving their children and grandchildren. He built a backyard swimming pool that became the heart of the home. It was a gathering place for family events, cookouts, birthdays, and long summer afternoons filled with laughter where stories were told and grandchildren splashed under his watchful eye.
Meals with his family included the bounty from his garden. His Lebanese tomatoes were a point of pride. He cared for them with patience and attention, and anyone lucky enough to taste them knew the difference. His legacy lives on in the traditions he created, the lessons he taught, and the memories made in the home and the backyard he built with his own hands.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers from The Inn at Old Saybrook and Patriot Hospice for their compassionate loving care.
Per Gordon’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
Family and friends are invited to visit www.seederly-mongandbeck.com to sign the guestbook or send private condolences.
