Dennis Allen Claypool

1945-2026

EAST PALESTINE — Dennis Allen Claypool passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 with his family by his side.

He was born on March 14, 1945 — the second son born to Marlin “Bud” and Margaret (Hull) Claypool. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Madeline (Tusar) Claypool, daughters Laura (Steve) Turner and Lisa (Phillip) Smith, and a sister, Peggy (Bill) Sutherin.

He graduated in 1963 from East Palestine High School. He attended Western Kentucky University and Youngstown State University. He went on to start a successful painting business.

He was a longtime member of the East Palestine Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a man of deep faith. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family and sharing Bible truth with others. One Scripture he often used to comfort others is Revelation 21:4. God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”

The family would like to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice for their kind assistance.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in East Palestine. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements. www.linsley-royal.com
