Richard L. Spratt

1939-2026

EAST PALESTINE — Richard L. Spratt, 86, passed away Jan. 12, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Boardman.

Richard was born July 1, 1939, in Rogers, Ohio, son of the late Carl and Leota (Blair) Spratt.

Rich was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and longtime resident of East Palestine. He served as Vice President of NULFCO Trucking for a number of years prior to his retirement. After retirement, Richard and his wife Carol moved to Ft. Myers, Fla., where he resided for over 20 years. He was a Methodist by faith, and also was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Shrine both in East Palestine and Florida throughout the years.

Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Ann (Murray) Spratt; a son, Edward (Stephanie) Spratt of Powder Springs, Ga.; a daughter, Marcie (Barry George) Barnhouse of East Palestine; a brother, James Spratt of Salem; four grandchildren, Aaron (Christie) Barnhouse and Corey (Victoria) Barnhouse and Gavin and Quinn Spratt as well as five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Tyler, Ariella, Landon and Quinton.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Gary and Robert Spratt.

Following Richards wishes, no services will be observed.
