Mary Alice Hoover–Smith

Mary A. Hoover, 92, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026. She was born on Feb. 3, 1933 at home to John and Dorothy Ridgeway.

Mary worked at Summitville Tile for 17 1/2 years. She was a member of the Hanoverton Church of God in Hanoverton and also attended the Highland Christian Church in Salem.

Survivors include her children John W. (Tina) Smith of Lisbon and LaRae (Fritz Linder) Exline of Salem; four stepchildren, Linda (Bob) Kraynak of Howland, Vince (Elaine) Hoover of Columbiana, Bill (Cheryl Albright) Hoover Jr. of Lisbon, Bob (Cinniamon) Hoover of Lisbon; her grandchildren and great-grand children and great-great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family members she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her siblings LeRoy Ridgeway, Irene Miller, Ruth Kellog, and Millie Huk.

Private grave side services will be in the Hanoverton Grove Hill Cemetery.
