Marjorie A. Watson
1937-2026
LISBON — Marjorie A. Watson, 88, passed away quietly on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026 at Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Boardman with her loving family at her side.
Marjorie was born Feb. 10, 1937 in Elkton, a daughter of the late Lucian D. and Hazel M. (Eells) Smith and had lived all of her life in the area.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she was a homemaker and had also worked as an egg grader at the former Eells Poultry Farm in Elkton at one time.
She was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering, and making crafts. But most importantly, she loved her family and spending time with them.
Her husband, Jack S. Watson, whom she married Jan. 16, 1954, preceded her in death June 11, 2001.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Karen Arnoto, Sally (James) Hawkins, Janet (James) Nentwick, and Peggy (David) Foor; sister, Evelyn Williams; brother, James W. Smith; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her son, John W. Watson; sister, Dorothy Books; and by her brothers, Lee A. Smith and Robert Smith; grandson, Michael Arnoto; and great-grandchildren, Owen and Paisley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Dirk Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive guests from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
