EAST PALESTINE — Rose V. Turnbull, 98, passed away Dec. 18, 2025, at Cardinal Retirement Village in Cuyahoga Falls.
Rose was born Aug. 28, 1927, in East Palestine, daughter of the late Charles and Rose Faulk Peterson.
Rose was a lifelong resident of East Palestine, prior to moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 2011 to be closer to family. Rose was a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine and was active in their choir. In her early years, she was a member and past queen of the Dames of Malta. Rose worked at the W.S. George Pottery in her younger years. Once she began her family, she proudly stayed home to care for her husband and children. She enjoyed reading and music.
Rose is survived by a son, Larry (Vicki) Turnbull of St. Cloud, Fla.; two daughters, Diane (Raymond, Jr.) Kawolics of Macedonia, Beverly (Steven) Kurjan of Stow; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Erin, Kayla, Ryan, Adam and Raymond III.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alvin Turnbull, in 2016; two brothers, Oscar Peterson and Durward Peterson; and two sisters, Iverne (Noel) Gorby and Fern Gorby.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at noon at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Bill Requart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday. A private burial will follow at Glenview.
