Robert James Savich

Robert James Savich

1948-2025

Robert James Savich, 77, passed away on Dec. 21, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Boardman.

He was born on March 3, 1948 in Aliquippa, Pa., a son of the late Stanley and Anne (Hornyak) Savich. He graduated from Hopewell High School in Pennsylvania and joined the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

Robert was an owner of R&R Inc. with his family.

He lived his life with generosity, humor, and a strong sense of what mattered most. He proudly supported Junior Phantoms Youth Hockey and South Range Schools, offering several scholarships along the way because he believed kids deserved a chance and a little encouragement (and maybe a gentle nudge in the right direction).

He was a member of Allen Masonic Lodge #276, valuing tradition, friendship, and service. He had a well-known love for Corvettes — sleek, powerful, and just flashy enough to make him smile. When he wasn’t talking cars, he was growing garlic, convinced that homegrown was better and probably telling anyone who would listen about it.

He enjoyed the contrast of his favorite places, splitting time between Taos, New Mexico, and Naples, Florida, equally content in the quiet of the desert or with his toes in the sand. Through it all, his children and grandchildren remained the true center of his world. They were his greatest joy, his biggest source of pride, and the people he loved more than anything — no contest.

Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 51 years, the former Evelyn Ralich; his son, Christopher (Molly) Savich; his grandchildren, Lucas, Claire, and Owen Savich; and his sister, Elaine Dmitrovich; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Savich.

Friends will be received on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland from 10 to 11:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the Gabba Camp, 4730 McCartney Road, Lowellville, Ohio 44436 or by going to www.gabbacamp.com/donate in his memory.
