1951-2025

Michael E. Strawn, 74, of Homeworth, Ohio passed away Friday, Dec.12, 2025 at his home. Michael was born June 1, 1951 to John E. and Norma June (Sands) Strawn and was raised in East Palestine, Ohio. He moved to West Virginia where he met his wife, Jennifer R. Stricklin Strawn. He served in the U.S. Army and Reserves then worked in the coal mine for 10 years while raising a family. Moving back to Ohio, he then worked in the oil and gas industry until his retirement in 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jennifer; children M. Shane (Samantha) of Canton, Ohio, Liza J of Canfield, Ohio, Emily G Baker (David) of Alliance Ohio, and Jessica M (Mark) of Hudson Ohio; grandchildren: Thomas (Bre), Samantha (Jeff), Caleb, Christopher, Skylar (Justin), Elijah, Aubrey, Owen, Lincoln, Lola, Sophie, Hannah, Greta, and Ruby; great-grandchildren: Lillian, Eleanor, and Parker. Michael is also survived by five siblings: Judy Starrett (Robin), Juanita Reeves, Katie Zartman, (Lorne), Rob (Susan), and Jeff (Mary).

He was a member of the First Brethren Church of North Georgetown serving as head Usher for many years. He was a member of the Kent State Salem Communiversity Choir for 15 years. He enjoyed spending time on his property golfing, caring for his lake, clearing the woods, and having his family over for fishing and weiner roasts in the woods. He will be remembered as a wonderful, funny, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Jan. 10, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the First Brethren Church, 27333 Main St., North Georgetown, OH 44665 with Pastor Joel Soza officiating.
