1932-2025
NEGLEY — Herbert D. Kelly, 93, passed away Dec. 9, 2025, at his residence with family by his side.
Herb was born June 6, 1932, in Rochester, Pa., son of the late Herbert E. and Elizabeth Vaughn Kelly.
Herb was a lifelong resident of Negley and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He attended Brush Run United Methodist Church, and later in life Lake Mount Church of Christ in New Waterford. He was a 42-year machine operator at Phoenix Glass in Monaca prior to his retirement. He enjoyed riding horses with his daughter, gardening, playing guitar, woodworking and square dancing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Herb is survived by four daughters, Faith (Scott) Weaver, Jeanette Edwards, Brenda (Allen) Miller, all of Negley, Patty Weber of Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, Joy Gorby, Brenda (David) Davis, Kellie (Garrick) Lembo, Patty (Jim) Black, Elizabeth (Chris) Westbrook, Shirley (Dale) Brinker, Nicole (Rick) Kaiser, Scotty (Kylie) Weaver, Ryan (Mia) Lalley and Amanda Weber; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Patricia Kelly in 2024; a son, Herbert Kelly Jr.; grandson, Daniel Paul Salmons; two brothers, William Kelly and Robert Kelly; a sister, Elizabeth Miller; and two sons-in-law, Chet Edwards and Larry Salmons.
A funeral service will be held at Lake Mount Church of Christ in New Waterford Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Tim Postle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. A private burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Cemetery in Rochester, Pa.
