EAST PALESTINE -- George W. "Butch" Libert, Jr., 73, passed away December 20, 2025, at St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Boardman following a brief illness.
Butch was born November 8, 1952, in Fairmont, WV, son of the late George and Sandra (Laurel) Libert, Sr.
He attended Wright State University and worked as a forklift operator for Magneco-Metrel in Negley prior to retirement. He was a member of the East Palestine Church of Christ. Butch was an avid Buckeye and Bengals fan and enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family.
Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol "Sue" Huff Libert; a daughter, Brooklynn (Jason) Trosky of East Palestine; two brothers, Steve (Kathie) Libert and Mark Libert; brother-in-law, Dean Riffle; five grandchildren, Teariney, Kamden, Colin, Ashton and Braydon Trosky as well as a great-grandson, Mateo Lorenzo.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pam Riffle.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
