EAST PALESTINE -- Danny Lee Barnhouse, 77, passed away Nov. 27, 2025, at Washington Square Healthcare in Warren.
Danny was born March 27, 1948, in Salem, Ohio, son of the late Chalmers Barnhouse and Virginia Garvin Crowl.
He attended United Local school and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He has resided in East Palestine most recently but had lived in Hubbard a number of years as well as Guam. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Cummins Diesel in Hubbard prior to retirement. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Guam HAWGS Motorcycle Club and also a proud member of the VFW.
Danny is survived by three daughters, Lori Whitman and Danielle (Shawn) Sullivan of Salem and Jaime Barnhouse of Struthers; four brothers, David (Nancy) Barnhouse of Guam, James Barnhouse of Lisbon, Nick and Robert Divjak, both of Montpelier, Ohio; seven sisters, Joy Chismar of Sugarcreek, Janice Hanna of East Palestine, Peggy Putteet of Salem, Bonnie Shaffer of East Liverpool, Jennifer Divjak of Rhinelander, Wisc., Sarah Denny of Nashville, Tenn., and Mary Divjak of Newell, W.Va., as well as 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Anthony Barnhouse; a daughter, Diana Sue Barnhouse Cameron; and wife Carla.
A graveside service will be held at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, where he will be honored for his service. The date will be announced in the spring.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
