Roger W. Walker

1945-2025

EAST LIVERPOOL – Roger W. Walker, 80, of Lisbon, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at East Liverpool City Hospital with his family by his side.

Roger was born in Union Township, Ohio on Sept. 12, 1945, a son of the late Ed and Gayle (Craig) Walker. He was a veteran proudly serving in the Army. He served in the 838th MP in Youngstown with 23 years of active service and 14 as a reservist. Part of Roger’s service was done during Desert Storm. Roger worked at NRM and in maintenance at Penn Power until his retirement in 2007. He was very involved in the community serving as a trustee for Madison Township, a volunteer fireman for West Point VFD and a member of VFW Post 4111 in Lisbon. Roger was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Lisbon where one of his joys was to help annually with Vacation Bible School. He was a very helpful person that went out of his way to help others. Most importantly, Roger was a loving husband, dad and pappy.

Preceding Roger in death were his grandson Harley Walker; brother Donald and two sisters, Dorothy and Helen.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, whom he married April 6, 1967, Sondra L. (Jackson) Walker; two sons, Craig Walker and his wife Kimberly, and Chris Walker and his wife Cassy; four grandchildren, Cayla Walker, Craig Jared “C.J.” Walker, Colin Walker and Logan Walker; and great-grandson Micah Smith.

Friends may visit Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Sam Severt of Harvest Baptist Church will conduct a funeral service on Saturday 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
