Rebecca A. Stearns

1950-2025

Rebecca A. Stearns, 75, of Negley passed away November 11, 2025, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Born January 20, 1950 in East Liverpool, Becky was adopted by the late Dudley Ashead and Freda (Headley) Ashead of Salem.

Becky was a member of Grace Church in Columbiana where she served on consistory, taught the Senior High class Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She retired from the Columbiana County Mental Health Center after working over 35 years as a receptionist. Many will remember her infectious laugh and kind heart, as she greeted clients and co-workers and worked to lift others up and help them through each and every day.

A 1968 graduate of Salem High School, Becky was a member of Glee Club, Pep Club, and Steno. Additionally, she was an avid gardener and animal lover, was a member of the East Liverpool-Calcutta Area Garden Club, and volunteered at Angels for Animals in Canfield.

Becky is preceded in death by her biological mother, Alice (Patton) Beaver, her adoptive parents Dudley and Freda, and her brothers Fred and Richard.

Survivors include her husband, Charles (Butch) Stearns of Negley, two daughters, Mrs. Laurie (Matt) Paz of Portland, Oregon, Jennifer Leigh (George Majchrzak) Lozier of Salem; a step-son, Martin (Tabitha) Stearns of Detroit, Michigan; a sister, Mrs. Maria (Mark) Maruschak of Rootstown; grandchildren–Ben, Ethan, and Gracie Paz, and Maeve Stearns–numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Smokey.

Services will be held at a later date at Grace Church in Columbiana.
