Lugene M. Brewer

1966-2025

POLAND — Lugene M. Brewer, 59, of Lisbon, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, after a brief illness, at the Hospice House in Poland.

Born on Sept. 23, 1966, in Salem, Ohio, she was the daughter of Jerry Sherrill of Columbiana and the late Dixie Anderson Sherrill.

A proud graduate of Beaver Local, Class of 1984, Lugene also attended the Columbiana County Career Center. She held positions at Ever Clear of Ohio and Spread Eagle Tavern and was an active member of the Future Farmers of America, serving as a dedicated 4-H advisor. Lugene found joy in raising pigs and riding her razor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Brewer; her daughter, Lindsey Brewer; and her best friend, Roger Hughes.

Lugene will be deeply missed by her children, Ashley Carroll (Joshua) of Rogers, Micheal Brewer (Haylie) of Calcutta, and Martin Brewer (Cailynn Shields) of Lisbon, as well as her grandchildren: Melanie, Caleb, Blake, Ember, Willow, Addison, Maggie, Easton, and Colby. She is also survived by her siblings, Jerry Sherrill of Columbiana, Janice Shanabarger (Bill) of Columbiana, and Vicki Smith (Wayne) of Lisbon.

A celebration of Lugene’s life will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dirk Hall officiating. Private interment will follow at Kimbles Cemetery in Elkrun Township. Friends are invited to visit with her family two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
