Dorothy L. Fenton

1934-2025

Dorothy L. Fenton, affectionately known as “Dot,” passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2025, at the age of 91, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in East Palestine, Ohio. Born on April 4, 1934, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Dot lived a life full of love, dedication, and community service.

Dot graduated from East Liverpool High School with the Class of 1952 and began her professional career as a bookkeeper for the Pearl China Company in East Liverpool, holding that position from 1953 to 1957. After marrying her beloved husband, Keith “Herb” Fenton, on June 30, 1956, she devoted herself to her family, her church, and her community.

She was an accomplished seamstress who many came to rely on. Dot also had a deep appreciation for flowers, especially pansies, which brightened her days. She also had a great love for her pets which was evident throughout her life, as she shared her home and heart with several cats and a beloved dog over the years.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren’s activities, where she could often be found in the stands, quietly cheering them on. Dot was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins and enjoyed watching many games over the years. In her leisure time, she found happiness in crocheting and crafting.

A dedicated member of Glenmoor Presbyterian Church, Dot served as the Sunday School Secretary for over 60 years. She was also a member of the East Liverpool Old Guard, the Glenmoor Girls, and the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. Dot felt blessed to contribute to her community by helping with The Helping Hands monthly free lunch at Glenmoor Church. She also lovingly helped with daycare services for working mothers and her own grandchildren

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Ada (Shank) Conn; her beloved husband, Herb, who passed away in 1997; and her siblings: Ruth DiCarlo, Irene Myers, George Conn, Marvin Conn, Richard Conn, Knute Conn, and Theodore “Teddy” Conn.

She is survived by her loving children: Tammy (Mark) May, of East Liverpool, Steven (Marty) Fenton, of Salem, and Kevin Fenton, of East Liverpool. “Grandma Dot” will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Brian (Kiley) May, Jessica (Ryan) Lynch, Justin (Erica) Fenton, Julianna Fenton, Kyle (Kye Newlun) Fenton, and Kaci (Jeremy Neff- Cigan) Fenton, as well as her great-grandchildren: Mason Lynch, Nora Lynch, Faith May, Easton May, Olivia Fenton, and Everett Fenton.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, with Pastor Val Vias officiating. Private visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Dot will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Covington Skilled Nursing and Southern Care Hospice for all of their love and support during Dorothy’s final days.
