LISBON – Phyllis L. Jones, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Windsor House St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center with her family at her side.

Phyllis was born August 12, 1942 in Sewickley, Pa., a daughter of the late Clarence N. “Butch” and Mabel M. (Mixter) Nolte.

A graduate of Moon Township High School, Phyllis worked for her parents at Nolte’s Senior Citizens Home in Lisbon for more than 30 years.

She attended New York Pilgrim Holiness Church and loved baking, cooking, sewing, making ceramics, and attending family gatherings. Phyllis was a campfire and cub scout leader, den mother, past PTO president, and Sunday School teacher.

Her husband of 54 years, Howard E. Jones, whom she married June 16, 1967, preceded her in death October 12, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David S. Nolte.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory, her daughter, Tris Anne (Charles) Thayer; son, Howard E. (Polly) Jones, II; siblings, Paul E. (Ginny) Nolte, Clara (Edward) Bowen, and Jay A. (Tina) Nolte; grandchildren, Howard E. (Autumn) Jones, III, Nicholas C. (Carolyn) Jones, Allison Marie (Tyler) Bardo, Russell L. Poling, Charlie (Tiffany) Thayer, and Paul (Amy) Overmyer; great-grandchildren, Howard Jones, IV, Summer Rose Jones, Harlee Marie Jones, Cameron D. Bardo, Hunter G. Bardo, Rorie Ann Bardo, Isabella M. Poling, Sawyer Poling, Bristol J. Poling, Nehemiah Thayer, Theadora Thayer, Mordecai Thayer, Heavenli Overmyer, Braxton Overmyer, Jace Overmyer, and Mae Overmyer; as well as her Godchildren, Christopher (Tanya) McLaughlin and Amanda Lou (Jeff) Bolen.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
