Jason Edward Maenz

1970-2025

Jason Edward Maenz, 55, of Salem, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025.

He was born on June 4, 1970, in Salem, Ohio, the son of Ernest Joseph Maenz and Kitty (Delfavero) McDevitt.

Jason was a 1988 graduate of Salem High School, he was a previous member of the Amvets, VFW, and the Hose Club and cherished spending time with his friends at the clubs. He enjoyed the outdoors; spending time hunting, fishing, and being with his best bud, Princess Jada the Basset Hound.

He is survived by his parents, and stepmother Diane Maenz; his children, Abbie Maenz and Jacob (Haley) Maenz, all of Salem; siblings Steve (Lori) Maenz of Stafford, Virginia, Debbie Dunleavy of Sanford, Florida, stepsister Lori (Doug) Grimm of Sumter, South Carolina, and his Bassett Hound Jada.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rudy and Olga Delfavero, Edward and Bernetta Maenz; stepfather Walter McDevitt; and his best buddy Spanky.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, 2 to 4 p.m., at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
