Janice Henderson Robinson
1935-2025
EAST PALESTINE — After a lifetime of devotion to her family and friends, Janice Henderson Robinson passed away on September 19 at Covington SNF in East Palestine.
She was born on August 18, 1935, the daughter of Roy and Esther (Lipp) McFadden and resided in East Palestine for most of her life.
She graduated from East Palestine High School with the class of 1953. She married Harold Henderson in 1954. Upon his passing, she married George (Ernest) Robinson. Janice enjoyed a life of service to her church and her community. She started a nutritional program for the elderly in the early seventies, organized many fundraising dinners, traveled to Mississippi with the church to feed the volunteers who were rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina, and enjoyed catering with Beverly Doran. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine and Gamma Omicron sorority. Foremost in her life, however, was her family and, as it grew, so did her love for them and their friends. She always had room in her heart for one more person. In later years, she enjoyed her evening phone calls; offering advice or catching up on everyone’s activities although, if Jeopardy was on, she may cut the call short.
She will be missed by her five children Cindy(Mark) Powers, Shelley (Dave) Vargo, Sandra (John) Myers, Mike (Bonnie) Henderson all of East Palestine and Janelle (Bob) Ellcessor of Brookfield as well as fourteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, two husbands and a granddaughter.
On Tuesday, September 23rd, a memorial service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to your favorite charity in Janice’s name or to The Jenifer R Powers Fruit Memorial Fund to benefit STEM education in area schools.
