James A. Falconer

1948-2025

James A. Falconer, 77, of Minerva, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 in Aultman Hospital. He was born July 14, 1948 in East Liverpool to Robert and Myrtle (Boyd) Falconer. He was a 1966 graduate of Southern Local High School. He was a Dairy Farmer and Auctioneer/Realtor. A former Columbiana County Deputy Sheriff, and West Township Trustee. Jim was a member of the Columbiana County Young Farmer's Association, and Columbiana County Farm Bureau. He was a founding member of the Columbiana County 4-H Dairy Beef Feeders committee.

He is a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was in the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hall) Falconer whom he married July 24, 1971, a daughter, Jodi (Garrett) Powers of Hanoverton, son, Josh (Gina) Falconer of Alliance, sister, Mary Rush of Pinehurst, NC, two grandchildren, Ellianna Powers and Dominic Falconer. He is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Mike Rush, brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Carolyn Sue Falconer.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Timothy Muse officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
