Mary Ann (McKee) Gwin

1932-2025
Mary Ann (McKee) Gwin passed away Aug. 16, 2025 after a long illness at her home in Kingwood, Texas. She was 92 but celebrated her 93rd birthday with family and friends in August. She was born on Sept. 11, 1932 in Mt. Jackson, Pennsylvania on the family farm.
Mary Ann graduated from Oregon State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts. She demonstrated her perseverance by beginning her college career at Westminster College in 1950, then LSU, University of California at San Diego and finally completing her degree requirements at Oregon State University, a span of 40 years. She played the piano for church for many years, led Girl Scout troops, traveled extensively, and held many responsible positions in church leadership. She carried her farm girl heritage through the years by always having a garden. Mary Ann had a long and stellar career as a secretary. Her organizational and managerial skills made her invaluable to university department chairmen and to her husband Clifford with his business.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband Clifford Lavelle Gwin and her daughter Ruth Filby Kirsopp. She is survived by her daughters Carol Szczukowsky of Germany and Roberta Kirsopp of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her stepchildren Kathy Lasko of Nashville, Tenn., Gary Gwin of Eagle, Ind., and Patty Booker of Greensboro, N.C. There are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Jan and Bonner Warr for their friendship and support.
Services for Mary Ann will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 22110 Northpark Dr., Kingwood, Texas 77339. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Bethel Cemetery in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania.
