Martha G. Sevek

1936-2025

Martha G. Sevek, 88, formerly of Summitville, died on July 23, 2025 at the Crandall Medical Center in Sebring.

Martha was born Nov. 14, 1936 in Hanoverton, Ohio, and lived all her life in the area. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Bryan and Margaret (Hambach) Bryan and the wife of the late Thomas Sevek. She graduated from Carrollton High School Class of 1954 and worked for TRW/PCC for 33 1/2 years, retiring in 1999. Martha was a faithful member of the St John’s The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Summitville where she was a member of St. Rita’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid walker and loved baking pies for all occasions. She loved to sing and dance. In her younger years, Martha and Tom would attend Polka Dances at Whinnery’s Landing where the two had their first date.

Martha is survived by two sons: David (Robin) Sevek of Carrollton, Dennis Sevek of Minerva; two daughters: Diane (Allen) Morris of Lisbon, Debora (Matthew) Kline of Lisbon; a brother, Carl (Sharon) Bryan of Columbus; grandchildren: Scott, Ashley, Sara (Ben), Megan (Heath), Meredith (AJ), Dario, Emily, Zachary (Ashley), Jessica, Jennifer (Herb), Tiffany; great-grandchildren: Asher, Ayden, Addison, Scarlett, Elsie, Boaz and Olivia.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Sevek, whom she married June 22, 1957 and died on Nov. 26, 2023; sons: Donald Sevek, Darrell Sevek, Dale Sevek; brothers: Louis Bryan, Paul Bryan, Arthur Bryan, Edward Bryan; sisters: Anna Mae Jakubowski, Sister Mary Bryan, Dorothy Goddard, Lyla Thorne, Ruth Sevek; and a grandson, Michael Sevek.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summitville on Saturday July 23, 2025 at noon. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

The family will be present to receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Johns Alter and Rosary Society or St. John’s Cemetery.
