Cynthia Elaine Emmerling
1943-2025
WELLVSILLE --Cynthia Elaine Emmerling,81, of Wellsville, OH, passed away on July 3, 2025 at Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville. She was born on November 26, 1943 in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Maurine E (Hoss) Williamson and Ann (Laidlaw) Williamson. She was protestant by faith and a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church where she served as Bulletin Secretary for many years, and as Treasurer from 2009 until 2018.
She retired from GMP International Union in 1997 after 34 years of service. Finding retirement boring and always looking for a new challenge, she returned to work for Southern Local Schools as a bus driver. She retired in 2009, after 12 years of service. In 2002 Mrs. Emmerling was appointed to fill an unexpired term of office as Madison Township Clerk. She was elected in 2004 and served Madison Township in this capacity for a total of six years. Having a deep and abiding love for animals, she also operated her own pet grooming business for many years. She was an avid equestrian who loved and owned horses most of her life.
Survivors include: her husband, Charles (Pete) Emmerling, who survives her at home; her daughter, Sara (Jeff) Koger; a granddaughter, Alexandra (Chris) Koger-Jackson; grandson, Tyler Koger; and two great-grandsons, Liam and Hudson Jackson. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jay W. Williamson and sister-in-law, June Ann Williamson. She was also preceded by her nephew Jay Williamson Jr. and her beloved Arabian horse, Image Maker, as well as her pet "best friends" Jazzy, Bling, and Safira.
It was Cindy's wish not to have services. Memorial donations in Cindy's name may be made to Yellow Creek Cemetery through the "donate" button on her obituary page at www.carechapel.com The MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists have been entrusted with Cindy's care.
