1947-2025
Linda Householder, born on June 10, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 78 at Carrollton Senior Care.
Linda was born in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of the late Walter and Opal (Sprouse) McMaster. She was a graduate of Stanton High School and resided in the area her entire life.
Linda was a devoted wife and cherished member of her community. She worked alongside her beloved husband, Howard, on their family farm, where she raised hogs and chickens with dedication and care. Known for her nurturing spirit, she also provided childcare for many families living out on the ridge.
Her interests were as varied as they were fulfilling. Linda was an avid gardener, creating beauty from the earth wherever she went. She was skilled in sewing, producing countless handmade treasures over the years. Her commitment to her faith was steadfast, as evidenced by her long-standing role teaching Bible school and Sunday school at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Hammondsville, Ohio. In quieter moments, she found joy in the pages of books, an activity she held dear throughout her life.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Iris McMaster, and brother-in-law, Jim Starcher.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard Householder; whom she married in 1968; her brothers: Butch McMaster of Pine Grove, and Allen (Vicky) McMaster, also of Pine Grove; brothers-in-law, Nelson (Donna) Householder of Pine Grove, and Herbert (Donna) Householder of Boardman; and her sister-in-law, Hannah Starcher of North Carolina. Linda also leaves behind her nieces: Alyssa (Cody) Kemmerling of Hammondsville, Christina Groves of Hammondsville, Julie Temple of Wellsville, Macy McMaster of Cleveland, Fawn Householder of Hammondsville, and Iris Kemmerling of Hammondsville.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.at the MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Susan Clegg. Linda will be laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery.
