Charles Curtis Hetherington

1932-2025

Charles Curtis Hetherington was welcomed home by our Lord Jesus on June 2.

He was born in Salineville Dec. 6,1932, a son of the late Orville and Mabel (Stewart) Hetherington. He was married to the love of his life Helen (Andrews) whom he married on March 16, 1953 and would spend the next happy 72 years with. They lived in Louisville where they raised their three children until retirement when they moved back to the family farm that he loved so much. In his younger years Charles enjoyed hunting small game with his beagles and also loved playing baseball. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War until 1954. He worked as a laborer at Union Metal in Canton for 29 years retiring in 1984. Charles was a methodist by faith and a member of Riley's Church.

Charles is survived by his son: Chuck and Crystal Hetherington of Carrollton; his daughter: Sue and Mike Chestnut of Augusta; and daughter: Gale and Tom Piatt of Salineville. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and his canine companion Buddybuck.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons Danny Carman and Luke Piatt.

A private service was held at the convenience of the family. Burial took place in Woodland Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Kerr Watson Funeral Home.
