Wilda Peterson
1929-2025
NEW WATERFORD -- Wilda Peterson, 96, of New Waterford went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2025, at the Christian House Assisted Living, where she had resided.
Wilda was born in Hornell, NY on February 21, 1929, a daughter of the late Clayton Ploss and Mary (Osborne) Ploss.
She graduated from Hornell High School. Having lived much of her life in the area, Wilda worked at the Midway Drive Inn and had also been a clerk at Sears and Dillard's.
Wilda enjoyed crafting of all kinds and a little painting. She was a member of the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene where she served on the board and volunteered a lot of her time. She also cherished time with family and friends and enjoyed playing cards.
Wilda is survived by a son, Carl D. (Marie) Peterson; two daughters, Pastor Pamela (Doug) Price of East Palestine, Michelle (Scott) Brennan of Ravena NY; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Peterson whom she married May 29, 1948; a son, Richard Peterson; three sisters: Evelyn Jackson, Evonna Peterson, Venecia Charles and one great grandchild.
The family invites you to attend an open house of remembrance Saturday May 17, 2025, at the parsonage of The East Palestine Church of the Nazarene, 391 Grant St. East Palestine, OH 44413 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene 38 E. Rebecca St., East Palestine OH 44413.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
