Patrica Ann Thomas
1957-2024
Patrica Ann Thomas, 68, who loved to be called “Ma,” left her loving family on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Pat was born in East Liverpool on April 13, 1957, a daughter of the late Richard Grodhaus and Fannie (Howell) Grodhaus.
Having lived all of her life in the area, Pat worked at Southern Local Schools for 37 years, where she became a bonus mom to many students and staff members. The majority of those years she worked as the high school secretary and was set to retire in July. She attended the Salineville United Methodist Church where she loved teaching Sunday School and helping with Vacation Bible School and also helped during the holidays with the children’s Christmas plays.
She married the love of her life Gary Thomas on July 25, 1975, and together they shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Pat was mother to: Nikki (Chris) Lewis of Salineville, Jake (Amber) Thomas of Pomeroy Ohio, and Holly (Josh) Davis of Hammondsville; grandmother to: Conner and Kennedy Jo Lewis, Lincoln, Ashlynn and Mia Thomas, Kennedy Renea, and Carter Davis.
She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Sister: Sondra (Richard) Backus of South Carolina: Brother Denny Grodhaus of Lisbon; Brother-In-Law Davey Thomas of Salineville, Sister -In-Law: Shelly Gradhaus of Fort Lauderdale FL. She also leaves behind her special dog, Homer, who brought her comfort and joy.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved parents: father Richard (1987) and her mother Fannie (2009) a brother: Dick Grodhaus (1987); Father-In-Law Dave (1980) and Mother-In-Law Coralie (2021)
Known for her deep love of family, Pat’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her loved ones- watching the Pirates with Gary, beach vacations, celebrating holidays, cooking holiday dinners with her granddaughter Kennedy Jo and especially loved rooting for her grandchildren during their sporting events. She also enjoyed taking afternoon joy rides with her husband Gary in their red mustang.
A faithful and loving woman, Pat’s Legacy is one of Kindness, dedication and unwavering love for her family and community.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Fitch and Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 3-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Pat’s name to the Salineville Kiwanis PO Box 85 Salineville OH 43945.
