Mark J. Preteroti

1943-2025

LISBON -- Mark J. Preteroti, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

He was born Oct. 16, 1943, in Salem, the son of the late Patsy and Mary (Compolo) Preteroti.

A 1962 graduate of the Lisbon David Anderson High School, Mark was drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1965 and served as a Nike Missile man in Germany until 1967.

He was an active member of St. George Catholic Church, Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, the N.R.A., and the Ohio Big Buck Club.

Mark worked for 21 years at N.R.M in Columbiana and retired from Union Metal in Canton.

In his retirement, Mark worked part-time for the Easter Seals, delivering meals to the shut-ins.

He loved spending time having coffee with his friends at McDonalds and the Pit Stop in Gavers. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and respected nature.

Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy (Mountz) Preteroti, whom he married on March 27, 1976, and his adoptive grandson, Liam Saddler.

He was preceded in death and has been reunited in Heaven with his sons, Andy and Matt.

A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at St. George Catholic Church, 271 W. Chestnut St., Lisbon with the Rev. Father Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
