Linda Lea McCreary
1939-2025
NEGLEY -- Linda Lea McCreary, age 85, of Negley, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 14, 1939, in Negley, daughter of the late Park and Mary Ann Smith Risinger.
Linda had worked as a clerk with the postal service at numerous post offices in the area and was a member of Negley United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Negley Fire Department Auxiliary, enjoyed volunteering in the community and was known to everyone she met to be a kind and caring friend.
Her husband, Robert E. McCreary, whom she married on June 29, 1963, preceded her in death on June 27, 1997.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Denise McCreary of Negley and Bobbi (Leland, Jr.) Smith of Enon Valley, PA; three grandsons, Devon McCreary, Michael (Kayla) Gurney, Jr. and Dalton Smith; five great grandchildren, Hannah Diaz, Elizabeth Gurney, Patrick Gurney, Benjamin Gurney and Maverick Smith and a brother, James Risinger.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Dickey.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at the East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers, with Pastor Cindy Figley officiating, burial will follow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
