WELLSVILLE — Clayton Don Eugene “CJ” Talbert Jr., 9, of Wellsville, passed away tragically on Saturday, May 10, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.
He was born July 15, 2015, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, the son of Deidre “Dee” (Knicely) and Clayton Talbert Sr. of Wellsville.
CJ was a fourth grade student at Wellsville Daw Elementary School where he was on the Honor Roll. He loved everything Wellsville Tigers and proudly supported the school and teams. He especially loved the Tigers shirts he had that matched with his mom. CJ also enjoyed playing football for the Junior Tigers. He was a fun-loving boy who enjoyed riding dirtbikes and anything gaming, especially Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Naruto. Above all else, CJ loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed planting flowers with his mom and was the best big brother to his younger siblings.
In addition to his parents, CJ is survived by his siblings: Eliza, Nova, Lisa, and Oak Talbert, all at home. He is also survived by a large loving extended family of grandparents: Raymond Talbert, Lisa Talbert, Donna Graves, Fredrick Knicely, and Deanna Knicely; great-grandparents: Deborah Talbert, Don Talbert, Carol Toland, John Edge, Patricia Hickman, and David Rhodes; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
CJ was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Robert Knicely Sr., Linda Knicely, John Toland, and John Edge.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Crowe officiating.
Family and friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville.
