Barbara (Aiken) James

Barbara (Aiken) James, 89, passed peacefully April 7, 2025. Born July 19, 1935, in Chester, W.Va., to the late Carl Aiken and Glennis (Sams) Aiken-Byland, she spent her early years in Chester and East Liverpool, and adult years in Lisbon and Clermont, Fla.

Barbara was married for 50 years to her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” James, until his passing in 2001. Together, they built a life of enduring love and raised five children: Rick (Cheryl) James, the late Lee (Debra) James, Lynne (Randy) GeBott, the late Leslie (Carlos) James, and Lisa (Kent) Templin-Rayborn. Proud grandmother to Heather, Jeff, Jared, Kegan, Kenna, Steel, Brent and Brad.

Barbara was the last surviving sibling among Beth Widger, Linda Buchheit, Pauline, Jimmy, Richard “Dick,” and Eddie Byland.

Please wear pink to her Celebration of Life – Saturday, May 17, 11 a.m. – Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington St. Lisbon, OH 44432. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Methodist Church OR Hospice House, 2100 Oakley Seaver Dr., Clermont, FL 34711.
