EAST PALESTINE —
Stephen A. Borelli, 68, passed away April 10, 2025, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehab in East Palestine, where he has resided the past 10 years.
Stephen was born November 21, 1956, in Salem, OH, son of the late Joseph and Caroline Colucci Borelli.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, and a 1976 graduate of East Palestine High School. Stephen worked for 20 years as a machinist for Hunt Valve in Salem and PTC Alliance in Beaver Falls. He also worked at Crestview Schools as a custodian at many school events and loved supporting the Rebels football team. He was a member of the East Palestine Masonic Lodge #417, the Ohio Valley Anglers and the “Men’s Garden Club of East Palestine”. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating and also loved to detail cars. He was an avid lover of The Ohio State Buckeyes & Cleveland Browns and he would always proudly let you know that Chevy is and will always be better than Ford.
To know Steve or as most knew him as “Greaser” was truly a gift. He lite up the room with his laughter and humor. He was so immensely loved by his wife, family and friends. No matter what obstacle he was facing he always had the biggest smile on his face thru it all and was just a true joy to be around. While our hearts may be hurting now, it’s all the amazing memories he left us with that will forever give us comfort.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julie Cowan Borelli of Columbiana; a brother, Joe Borelli of California; brother-in-law, Sid (Cindy) Cowan of East Palestine and many nieces, nephews and friends.
We love you forever and always Uncle Steve.
Stephens’ family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
His family wishes to thank the staff at Covington for all the compassionate care they showed to Stephen throughout the years. The love, care and respect the nurses, aides and staff gave Steve for the past 10 years will forever warm our hearts to know how loved he was by all and treated like gold up until his last moments. For that we will forever be thankful for every single one of them.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
